About This File

I have all EP:s and most of the SP:s.

Since Photobucket, where I saved my pictures, has changed its terms, I have no pictures to display.

Oh. I really love this house, Marbi! It is just as cute as can be. I'll have to take it all in and post more later. My eyes are struggling this morning. But it looks so very charming for the little recluse at the edge of the village/forest.

What a sweet, precious home.

I got a kick out of the nursery items stored in the attic/sewing room.

Did you download the lot, Nonni? I was trying to figure out what was stashed in that upper room. That's one of the places I like to stash stuff in my lots. Or surround them with hay, logs in a part of the yard.

It's better than putting them in inventory. I once had a bunch of produce stashed in the inventory of the town's main farmer. The farmer died. Everyone had to eat fish and juice for a long time before inventory at the store was built up enough. If they had enough for juice. After that, my 'hoods had farmer co-ops. This time, the royal families have to share storing surplus -they will get a percentage of all crops to stockpile for times of famine.

Yeah, kat, I downloaded the lot and the attic had crib and other nursery items. I stash stuff too. Once, when I first started playing, I stashed an annoying maid up there and forgot her. I kept hearing this sobbing that night and couldn't figure out what it was. She was almost dead when I finally remembered her. I haven't done that again.

Thank you sweeties. Nonni, that was so fun, but I'm glad that you let her out. I can't stand to harm my simmies, they seem so real to me. I have tried once but had to stop before my sim died.

Nonni, you are so funny! Stashing a maid in the attic. Was it the Pleasant's maid? Did she quit after that near-death experience?

I usually play with sound off because sim voices annoy me. I don't even like the sim music either. So I would never hear the sims crying if I stashed them in an attic.

My sims seem real to me as well, but different because I have stories in mind for them. Some will have to die.

I found the bedroom recolors of MM Dazzle Drapery by CTNuttmegger here.

The curtains in the dining room are by IgnorantBliss at MTS check out this link. Still need the red gingham recolor, though.

It looks as though these drapes were made to pickup and match the Maxis bedding as well as any other CC recolors of bedding. We need a red gingham bedspread. At least that is what I am thinking.

BTW: I love the lace inserts in the top of the curtain. They sure make the curtains pop!

I have found some gingham bedding by HugeLunatic here. Makes nice curtains.

Warning this file is rather large so for my own game I have compressed it using the Compressorizer located here.

I'm sorry about the recolors not showing up. I think my gingham is by CII at Simscrossing, but they are not stored there now. Can someone check this file out for me. It is Veil of Dreams curtain recolors but it doesn't say what color it is or who the creator is but I think it is in this one. Not so big file as HL:s.

Thanks ladies I didn't find any bedding from the links you have in your first post Nonni, Sorry!  I guess I don't understand which is which, but I don't see any bedding, I see the dazzle drapes but wasn't able to find any bedding..   I do however, really appreciate that you took the time to try to find them Nonni.

Marbi, your file does not contain the red and white gingham recolor.  The post Nonni has does have a red and white texture that looks about the same.

Marbi, I understand the Sims game does not include textures of items that are repository types, which seems to cause a problem for lot creators.   I was asking her if it would be too difficult for lot creators to test their posts in a clean game and/or take images from what you are actually posting, to reflect what the downloader is actually getting.  To eliminate disappointment.

I love the curtains and did not realize the eyelet section was a separate mesh.

Thank you both very much for trying to resolve this.

I don't know how to test my houses to see what is missing and I try not ot use recolors of maxis stuff because I know I have to find the specific file and inlude it but sometimes I forget. I will make a note in the post about this.

This is how you create a clean game:

Just rename your folder under your documents "EA Games" to something like EA Games2, then start your game, the game will create all new game files, so it may take a little longer to start.

Then exit the game once you get to the neighborhood selection screen.

Next install your lot, and restart the game.

Once you are done checking your lot and have exited your game you may either delete the "EA Games" folder or rename it.

Then rename your original "EA Games" folder back to EA Games and you will have your original game back.

You could also, delete the files under downloads folder and save the clean game for testing another time.

Another way, is to rename "The Sims 2" folder instead.  Renaming either folder will create a clean game.  (This also, works for Sims 3).

In case you are not familiar with how to rename a folder you just right click on the folder and select the option "rename".

I used to have to do this quite often to get rid of bad CC.

I'm not requiring you do this, I'm just trying to be helpful.

Marbi, we are setting up Clean Games on our computers so we can help our Creators and our members. By sharing the quest for missing Textures or meshes we hope to make this task easier for everyone. You will have our full support, dear lady. :icon_hug:

Yes, we should all work together to help each other.  I don't want to cause a burden, nor do I want to discourage anyone.  I have always shied away for downloading lots, because I have had so many problems with them.  I really dislike how the files get renamed to nonsensical names too.  I just wish there was a better way to do this.  I was kind of hoping that now that we do not require a listing and links to all CC included maybe that time would be better spent making sure the download contains everything pictured, or provide links to at least the missing items.

Unfortunately, I did notice another problem with this lot.  In the bedroom there is just a pile of logs and no fireplace.

Okay. I have a question about clean games. If you set up a clean game and return to your regular game, won't the game reset in all your neighborhoods? So you will actually have to start the game twice to get all your cc to show up and not turn into eaxis objects?

I didn't see this until today. Is the fireplace still missing? I am really sorry for all the trouble this lot is causing.

The Clean Game has no effect on your regular game. I have 4 TS2 games in My Documents file (C:\Users\Nonni\Documents\EA Games), each one has its own Downloads folder, its own Neighborhoods, its own Config, etc.

Marbi  - I tested your lot in a clean game and everything showed up in game. The shrubbery, Nengi's Big Bougainvillea, shows blue in the Neighborhood view but is fine once you get in the lot.
