About This File

SIP-Sims in Paris made some lovely rooms and this living room was one of my favourites. In total I made 60 recolours. The plain recolours have pillows with embroidered or cross stitched images I found on the internet. The patterned recolours I kept the pillows all plain.

Please note that the recolour of the coffee and end table are in their own file. The mesh file has also been uploaded as a separate file.

I hope you and your Simmies enjoy these new recolours.

Happy Simming Everyone!!  :Peek-A-Boo::Peek-A-Boo:

These files have been moved to FS and also include the meshes needed. Dec19/19

Mission Mouse... NEVER sell yourself short!  You do a wonderful job.  My only advantage on recoloring is time on my hands (retired) and a healthy dose (or, unhealthy, depending on the situation) of OCD.  Much more goes into the recycle bin than you can imagine!  I am just happy to know That you like my work.

You all are making me  Sometimes no matter what I do I just can't get it exactly the way I picture it in my mind, I think there must be something I could do to make this look the way I see it in my head. There are still tricks that I know I do not know. For the life of me I cannot figure out how to get the colour brown in Jasc paint.

I know that the stuff I make I am very fussy about, it has to be as close to perfect as possible. Then there is my preferances, I tend to tackle things I like and disregard things I'm not fond of. I do know I make way too many recolours, but I'm just having such a blast. I can go on my game computer and see the stuff I've made and see how much I've personalized the game to my tastes, that's an incredible feeling.

You can do it a few different ways. You can either pick the duller orange closer to the dark gray or black part or you can pick a brighter orange (or gold or red depending on which brown you are going for) and then use the hue saturation lightness tool to make it darker and/or duller depending on what shade you want. use the little dropper tool around the darker edges nearer black to get browns.

Nice recolours thankyou!   Only problem is The Sim File Share folder only had the coffee table, end table and original meshes in the download folder, couldn't find a file for the recolours!   Just thought I had better let you know.

Many Thanks

Lovely recolors! 🙂 The download files only contain the original meshes, but not the recolors. Can you please re-upload the recolors? Thank you!!!!

Hi, I am known as Tontrin in the Sim community, don't chat much on sites anymore, mostly lurk and download. 😉 I downloaded the seat colors from this post a while back, however, I did not get the other files stating they have been moved to FS. I searched the site for FS, however it brought up no matches. I am thinking this must include the recolor of the coffee and end tables. Would someone be so kind as to show me where to get those files please? Thank you.

I checked both my external hard drives and I don't have the recolours I did on either one.  I will have to make new recolours. Please be patient with me because I am currently very unwell.

I did some investigating and the mesh files were missing. I've added them. Please let me know if this fixes your problem. I hope your health issues are resolved quickly. :Peek-A-Boo:

Aha, part of the mystery solved. Thank you! :Thank_you: And I can certainly be patient for the table recolors. I hope your health is also quickly restored. Your kind words are greatly appreciated. And I must say I really do like your beautiful recolors, I'm just working to get some of this added back to my game and figure out what is what. Those external drives and the things they lose! That is quite the challenge. Take good care.:getwell:

The table recolour is in included in the recolour file. I only did one recolour file in mahogany wood. :389-Amours-love-:

I'll let you in on my secret for keeping files organized, I make a folder for each set, name it what it is and then add it to my game. I always include the mesh files in that folder. You do wind up with a lot of folders but there is actually no limit to the number of folders you can have. The downside to this method is that it takes longer for my game to load so while I am waiting I do some housework.

Over time I have lost a lot of things because I didn't invest in external hard drives. My laptop crashed and I lost almost everything, that just devastated me, hence the purchase of 2 external hard drives. As soon as I make new patterns or upload anything it gets copied to one of those hard drives. One drive is for Sims 2 and the other is for Sims 4. I do understand that not everyone can afford to do that, I am truly blessed to have a hard-working and understanding husband, although he is completely mystified by my obsession for the Sims. :ROLF:

Thank you for that. :Thank_you:That makes sense to me now. I was able to get an external HD years back for a super good price, and without it I likely would have lost everything as well. Technology can be a right pain. I now have a gaming laptop, refurbished, bought just a few years back after my desktop computer stopped running. I found super cheap connection so I can get stuff from the old hard drive from that computer. That hard drive has problems though, and I can remember that stuff used to just disappear from it (It seems to be a hungry hard drive that eats files) LOL. When I was copying some files from it the other day, it ate some of them. At the end of the copy it said the files that were there originally were no longer there and could not be copied, and when I checked, sure enough, they were gone. I can see that there must have been many of them that previously disappeared because I have recolors of objects in some files that the meshes from the other creator are simply gone as well.

Obsession for The Sims; this is where I am still going thru downloads to find the best mix of stuff for my game. And I finally just yesterday found some things I thought were missing. My most recent completed downloads folder had over 50,000 files in it. I think my daughter thinks that I am crazy. I told her that is nothing compared to what is on my backup drive, because there are tons of stuff there not installed and I can't guess how much is there. I was badly missing stuff that you made though, so I am working on redoing things again. At least it keeps me busy when I don't feel well but don't feel too badly to dig thru files.

I do pretty much the same thing with letting the game load and do the dishes, take a shower, whatever.:flowerssmiley:You are such a delight. I appreciate your help
