Administrators MissionMouse Posted December 18, 2019 Administrators Share Posted December 18, 2019 Just to let you all know, it's going to take me a LOOOONG time to get my Sims 2 furniture recolours moved to SFS. Apparently I do too many recolours and I keep timing out when I am uploading them to SFS. Not to worry, I found a way around that but it's time consuming. I have to make a sub-folder for each set and then break the files into smaller rars. I had wanted to get my files all moved before Christmas, but I don't think that is going to happen. Administrators Rebecah Posted December 18, 2019 Administrators Share Posted December 18, 2019 If you tell me which ones they are I will download them and upload to your folder. One thing I do have is fantastic internet. That's just too much work to break them up. It's usually very confusing to people as to how to reconnect the rar's and if one doesn't want to pay for winrar *me they can't do it. That's why I really do not like to see people us rar, it's no longer free to use.
Administrators Rebecah Posted December 18, 2019 Administrators Share Posted December 18, 2019 I just wanted to be sure you understood that I'm not trying to tell you how to do it...it's only a suggestion. I really don't mind uploading the larger files to save you the work.
Administrators MissionMouse Posted December 19, 2019 Author Administrators Share Posted December 19, 2019 What would be a better program than WinRar? Thanks for the offer, but when I go to my external hard drive and find them, they are actually in categorized folders. It's not as bad as I thought and I'm Just going to keep plugging away. Administrators Rebecah Posted December 19, 2019 Administrators Share Posted December 19, 2019 I don't know of another program that splits up large files into smaller chunks. I think it's great that people are just uploading the package files, since the compression programs don't actually make them smaller. At least the Sims 4, not sure about the others. The only problem for me is I can't tell one package file from another it could be sims 2, sims 3 or sims 4. I wish people would name them as to which game they go to. Some people feel the tiny bit of difference rar does as opposed to zip is worth it. To me it's not zip is free and so much easier to use. I know 7zip will unpack rar's but it's no longer free either and I really hate how it works on zip files.
Administrators MissionMouse Posted December 23, 2019 Author Administrators Share Posted December 23, 2019 I have 3 folders on my desk, one for Sims 2, one for Sims 3 {which I don't even have} and one for sims 4. That's how I keep the games organized and put the right files in the right games. My thing---I wish people would use the proper Sims logo version on their download pictures. Sometimes I forget which game I am downloading for.
