The Sims 4 x OverWolf Partnership

It seems that their platform CurseForge is a good thing. Many simmers I have watch on Youtube are in favor of it. CC makers can launch their stuff there and get payed, it is a safe place (they say anyway) that wont let bugs in and it will also search for broken mods and repair those. That is my very short explanation and I am not an expert. I would have loved if they had fixed the game to get rid of all the bugs that are already there. But I wont hold my breath.

I didn't realized they get payed ! Who will be paying them? As far as I know all CC will be free to download.

I saw this on Dreaderpool's Discord site:

"If you do not wish to use Curseforge and prefer to continue managing your mods in the way that you always have, MCCC will remain available to download in the usual places such as Patreon and Tumblr. Deaderpool will continue to do Patreon pre-releases for supporters as well. Using the mod manager will be 100% optional.

Any questions or concerns, feel free to ask us in one of the General Chat channels!

I heard about the compensation CC-creators would get in this stream "Behind the Sims Summit". As it is in English and that is not my native language it is possible that I misunderstood. It is your - as a CC creator - decision if you want to upload things there or not, but it is EA that decides if your stuff is good enough. We players don't have to pay to download the CC but we will be sure that the CC is safe to download and we can organize our downloads so it will be easy to find our stuff.

I have always thought that you have to pay to be able to use Patreon. So in that case he/she want us to pay for the CC he/she makes.

I think Patreon is a donation type of site.  I know I pay a $3 a month donation for MCCC but it is one I feel is worth it.  I get an email whenever there is an update with a direct link to the update.  It's a great tool!  I just don't play the game often enough.

I like that they are going to check the content etc.  I just don't think I'd want to create for them myself though.  To me Sims 4 just isn't much fun to create things for.  Nothing like Sims 2.

I didn't pay anything for MCCC and get the updates  also for free, and always a notification that a new update is available. The same with Weerbesu's UI Extention mod. I never pay for downloads from Patreon. There are some creators that you have to pay / donate to download their stuff, but I refuse to do that.

You are right Marbi, they do get paid. In one of the articles above they said it quite clearly. And downloading is for free.
