  1. Bricks and Siding

    Lots of walls this time!
Since the Sims 2 came out, I've wanted to make my house...or at least have always liked the look on the front--which is half brick and half white siding. But while the Sims had both the siding and the bricks, they didn't have both. So I made them!
These are based on maxis walls: the London red chimney bricks with belting, combined with various maxis sidings. The brick part was modified to fit the siding, particularly on the strictly "horizontal" sidings, so they may not mutually match right next to each other, though they will all work with the original brick walls.
They are seamless to both the original bricks and the sidings! They are classified under bricks though, just because.
There is some (very slight) warping with the clapboard walls under the eaves of the roof, but that seems to be a problem with the roof itself, when used over two stories, it doesn't happen:
The blue paneling has that line, even in the maxis original.
    Additional Credits Maxis
Note: These are split into two files: the "horizontal" siding (1) and the "others" (2). :birthday:
Also, these are sims2pack files and have to be installed. and one file is simply called "bricks and siding" this is the white scallop. The rest have the name of the siding as part of the name of the file.

  2. Good Shepard Walls

I hope this is still okay.
These are the first wallpapers I've ever really made (real wallpaper-type wallpapers that is, seamless and everything) so they're very simple, but they should be elegant enough to grace any sim's wall! These wallpapers are called "Good Shepard" because each features a few bars from that same hymn. If you download these, I encourage to read the descriptions, I thought they came out rather well!
Before I forget, these are priced respectively 4, 6, and 9 simoleans. Rather higher than most custom wallpapers, but I understand that the higher the price, the better the room value, and I also like the 'realism'
    Enjoy!

  3. The Dollhouse

I built this awhile ago, not really planning on upload it. Then I reconsidered, and so after some modifications, here it is!
The Dollhouse is an old Victorian home that we've recently renovated into a multi-purpose shopping facility with all the modern conveniences! On the ground floor, we offer an intimate, yet casual, dining experience--a great place for a first date or Golden Anniversary celebrated with the kids. We have also tucked away a small coffee bar and quiet sitting area. On the second floor, conveniently accessible by elevator, the shopping area displays almost anything you may need including clothing, jewelry and perfume. The next room is a large reading area with comfortable couches and a wide array of books. We also have a research station with internet access.
Outside, you can't miss the cooking contest and living statue, both of which have become institutions for our community. We hope you enjoy them as well. Also enjoy our luxury pool and the back area, which we have left untouched. Relax with nature by the natural steam that runs through our property and let yourself be soothed by the dense flora and the potent, heady scent of their flowers. Feel free to stand on the restored bridge (original to the house!) over the stream to watch the water.
We know you'll love this property as much as we do, and hope that there is a place for The Dollhouse in your neighborhood today!

  4. Small Contemporary Church

Wasn't it great that Pet got to come by? I'm glad she felt well enough to say hi. Afterwords, she and I chatted for a little bit on messenger, and she said how happy she was to hear from everyone. She also asked me if I was still building houses and churches. Well, I'd build houses, but no churches.
Since I finally reinstalled the Base Game Starter, and included all kinds of different games, I thought I'd start from scratch and try to build a church that way. So I built one today to share with you all .
Turns out, I really don't know how to build a church that's not based on a real church; and without custom content, or expansion packs, it's very hard to get any church-like features. But I did my best. Here, there is a fairly good sized hall with bathrooms on one end and the pastor's office on the other. Just before the office there is a nice comfortable sitting area. It has a small counter area, which would be a great place to keep the coffee! The hall semi-wraps around the sanctuary, with simple interior seating. One note: the table I used is, I think, from the Holiday Stuff Pack, , which I don't have, but my base game is the holiday edition. You shouldn't have any trouble using it in your game, though. If you do, please let me know! Before I forget, behind the back wall, the church has a small (flower) garden, and a playground area. It also has a grill and seating for special gatherings. I hope you all like this church!
Again, no CC, so that's why it's identified through the roof and and brickwork.
    Lot Type: Commercial
    Lot Size: 3x4
    EP Requirements: None
SP Requirements: None, but if you really want the table, Holiday Stuff Pack
Additional Credits: Pet! for bringing it up :)

  5. Small Town Chapel

This isn't a cathedral, or even a well-endowed church. Maybe the best you can say about it is that it's well-loved. But isn't that enough?
Small Town Chapel is exactly as descriped. Near the chapel is a small fellowship hall. Inside the chapel, there is a wedding arch where your sims can be married in front of Rob's beautiful cross. In the fellowship hall there is a small kitchen area, two bathrooms and some dining space. It's small and crowded but suits the needs of the Small Town Chapel's congregation. There is a fenced area for the children to play and run around, and in front a generous donation allowed for the placement of a basketball hoop and swings! There is also room for a barbeque or buffet on the back patio. I hope you enjoy it!
    Lot Type: Commercial
    Lot Size: 3x2
    EP Requirements: through Freetime
SP Requirements: through Kitchen and Bath Although, again, with CleanInstaller that might not be necessary
This lot has been made smaller with the lot adjuster. It's been tested, but if you have any trouble go here to report it.

  6. Mediterranean Style Church

This church design was inspired by the Spanish revival, and the Missions of Southern California and Mexico. As an older church renovated to fit contemporary culture, the interior has been modifed to fit an office, classroom and a fellowship hall with indoor plumbing. Unfortunately the fellowship hall and bathrooms only could be placed in the basement. There was room however, left over from renovations, to allow a large space outside the santuary for a welcoming area for the congregation to gather before and after service, with a piano. (not shown)
    Enjoy!

  8. Kay's Victorian

Kay, I first meant this as a "happy birthday/good luck on your test! house"; but it took me too long to build and in the meantime you passed, so it is now a "congratulations on passing" and "happy very-belated birthday" house! I hope you like it anyway!
So this is based, essentially, on the list you gave me of features you liked in houses--although making the rooms large was hard! so if they aren't quite big enough, let me know.
Anyway, here we have a two bedroom, 2.5 bathroom Victorian-style home with furnished and unfurnished (plumbing and kitchen only) versions. There are two fireplaces, a great room, bonus room, a loft-type area (I think), and an attached garage. The backyard has two decks and a large pool. And, hopefully, it will make a lovely story set!
    Lot Type: Residential
    Lot Size: 3x4
    Lot Value:
    Unfurnished: 92.642
    Furnished: 162.549
EP Requirements: Nightlife, Open for Business, Seasons, and Bon Voyage
    SP Requirements: none
There are a few small issues with this house. First, the attached garage looks fine when closed, and it is functional, when someone drives through it, the wall cuts through the car (see pic). Also it's not a good idea to take pictures of the inside with "roofs on" because the bonus room is covered, as seen in the layout picture (but everything's accessible and playable), and the roof looks really low in the kitchen. But I hope picture taking with roof on isn't necessary, because there should be enough room.

  9. Desert Villa

Well, since not everyone has Sims 3, I thought I'd upload this Sims 2 house I've been working on for a while as a Christmas gift as well Also, it's for those who are currently suffering untoward weather, as this is a base game home, where the weather is always perfect! (As for Seasons, it would probably look best in a desert environment with little snow--you don't want your simmies' ceilings collapsing from the snow! )
Silliness aside, this elegant villa has two bedrooms, a master on the ground floor, with a 'suite' on the second floor (the bedroom itself is attached to a small 'study' area, where kids can hang out with their friends without annoying their parents! This is a lovely home, and fully furnished--although not fully decorated, to leave plenty of room for the owners to express themselves.
    Lot Type: Residential
    Lot Size: 3x2
    Lot Value: 100,900

SP Requirements: Created with Holiday Edition, not necessary to any content (that I know of).

  10. 55 Normal Street

You're just out on your own, and suddenly you can't rely on Mom and Dad anymore. When you just want to start your life on the right front, you need someplace you can afford. And when you're just starting out, you might not think you can afford anything more than a shack.
    Fear no more!
55 Normal Street is a lovely, traditional, cozy home available to you for less than 20,000 simoleans. Lots of yard space and even some landscaping give your new home great curb appeal. Recently renovated, all the wall coverings and floors have been replaced, as has the staircase. Not only that, but the good-sized kitchen has a real tile floor. On further exploration you will see this home offers two bedrooms--a great plus if your family grows a little sooner than planned!--and one and half baths.
The best part of all? This home comes fully furnished with all the lovely things you saw on your walk-through! You will even have enough left over from purchase to personalize your living space!
Enjoy the beginning of the beginning of your new life at 55 Normal Street.

  11. Renovated Shotgun House

Well, as you may have guessed from my previous uploads, I'm something of frustrated architect. I love studying houses and home plans, and just keeping an eye out for interesting--or even 'typical'--local buildings. Recently, I checked out a book called American Houses: A Field Guide to the Architecture of Home by Gerald Foster. It covers the "domestic" architectural condition through US history, and is fascinating, and I highly recommend it However, while reading this book, I noticed many designs that could be translated in the Sims, at least to a certain extent. One in particular: the shotgun house of (primarily) the South. The most identifiable feature of this style is that the doors from one end to another line up--one theory as to how it got its name is that one could shoot a shotgun from one end to the other.
One of my banes in the game has been the smallest lot, the 3x1. I don't know how many of you remember that, but I've always had trouble building usable homes on that lot, and when I saw the shotgun house, immediately thought of that lot. It worked! And I bring you the result. This home is probably best designed for a young single Sim or couple, an older retired couple, or even a vacation lot (even with kids, if your Sims bring along a tent! ) But it has plenty of activities, including all skill building objects--for body though, your Sims will have to acquaint themselves with the jump rope until they buy real workout equipment...for which there is plenty of room. Though both the lot and house are compact, the space is efficiently used, and there is plenty of open space, perhaps for a garden, and there is a large pond that should be good for fishing. If your Sims wish to live outside of the "rat race" this is the place! Because Sims like their plumbing, this rather traditional shotgun house is built with a bathroom...which does break the line of the doors. I hope you can forgive me and that you enjoy this lot!

  12. Yellow Farmhouse

This is another home inspired by real life (but the story isn't). :birthday:
Jane was wildly successful as a business woman, and she enjoyed the traveling necessary to her work. But after a few years she began to feel as though God wanted her on another path. She just wasn't sure what it was. One day, she driving again across country to make a meeting with a company she knew was unethical. Worrying her lip, she prayed for guidance, but didn't immediately feel an answer and kept driving. A few miles later she was detoured through a small town's main street. Jane had to swallow down her homesickness. It was so much like the town her grandparents had lived, before they moved to a condominium in the city. It looked so friendly. She sighed and drove on, not daring to stop, lest she couldn't bring herself to leave.
But, less than a mile from the little town, she glanced to her left, and saw the most adorable house. It was a cheerful yellow, with white trip, and looked so inviting, Jane couldn't help but stop, just for another look. On that second look, she saw the for sale sign. She paused a moment. Felt the wind lift her hair. Well, if this wasn't a hint, she didn't know what was.
Jane found her happy ending, maybe your sims will to!
The Yellow Farmhouse has an orchard in back, with a good-sized greenhouse, ready to be filled. The backyard is already ready for entertaining with close friends, with an old-fashioned barbecue. In front, as you see, there is also seating, to enjoy a warm summer night, and a good place to wave to neighbors walking their dogs (or just themselves). Inside, you enter into a cosy living room, and there is a generous kitchen, with separate formal dining room, as well as a half-bath. Upstairs, you will find two bedrooms with a shared full bath and room for homework, and a comfortable seating area.
I hope you enjoy this house!

Very graciously, she let me make the house for it! And it's totally awesome, so y'all should feel perfectly comfortable sending your sims here! This is not your typical house, as per Hatty's request, it's got different features, but could be converted easily enough. At any rate some of these features are: a large communal bedroom, a toilet room (not pictured) and a bathroom with two showers and a bathtub that can be simultaneously used (if necessary--wasn't sure), a very large living area with plenty of couches...and two suspended tvs and plenty of other fun stuff, large entry way for plenty of sims and visitors, and a large dining area off the kitchen! (which has attached, enclosed pantry. Kitchen is easily expandable). Plus a lovely garden and pool!
And there are two rooms not shown. Those are for Hatty to share as she will! I hope you like it Hatty!

  15. Small Traditional Home

Based on--or rather, inspired by--a two different homes I saw driving home recently. I must confess that it isn't spectacular, and though I loved it, I didn't really intend to upload it. That is, until I'd finished and realized it cost exactly 20000 simoleans.
Then I realized that I had an extra floor tile in the middle of nowhere, and naturally had to remove it . So I kept playing with it until it was back to 20000. Then I thought: I have all the EPs and most SPs--most people won't be able to use it. I decided to install it into Numenor's Any Game Starter, and that worked. But then I had to change a few walls and floors, and add some flowers to make up the difference And I got it back to 20000 exactly! :birthday: At any rate, I hope you enjoy playing it!
    Oh! A last few notes:
    It's a 2 bed/2 bath.
I have included two walls that I created, both basic white siding.
You see the scallops on the bottom of the second floor wall? It's simple and subtle, but an elegant touch, I thought (It's modeled directly after a pattern I saw on a house during my drive).
Also, as you can see, it's very sparsely furnished. This was one reason why I wouldn't have uploaded, but because this lot required Apartment life, a couple with one child will have 27000 right from CAS, so it should still be usable as a starter.

  16. 14 Brafton Drive

This quaint and cozy home is just right for a couple, maybe just starting their family, just out of their first home; or an elder couple looking to downsize for their retirement. Either way, this little home has lots of potential.
The current furnishings, though sparse, are included, and there is already some attractive starter landscaping. Off to the side of the home is an old stone wall, a perfect nook for a private garden or entertaining area. On entering the home, you will find a dining room leading to the adorable kitchen on the left, and on the right a formal parlor.
In the well-lit and finished basement, there are two bedrooms, and another room easily converted to a bathroom. Your sims will be able to settle right in and put their mark on this home!

  17. Lilac Lane Lodging

I hope you like it Ress!
This is a little bit different--something I have wanted to try for a while. This is a lovely little lodging house! I was hoping to create this as an actual apartment building, but the game doesn't seem to allow for a communal kitchen, so it's designated as residential. However, it would also be perfect for storytelling or large families! Or even as a vacation home for people who like to travel with their friends.
If you have a social sims, or sims in-between traditional living arrangements, or young sims who aren't quite ready for full adult responsibility, Lilac Lane Lodging may be the answer!
As traditional a boarding house that I know how to make in the Sims, Lilac Lane Lodging has, technically, five "units", with four upstairs with their own individual bathrooms. Just as if this were a converted home, the "master bedroom" is the largest, and downstairs, with a closet and its own full bath. In a real boarding house, the owner or landlord would simply rent out rooms to their boarders. With the constraints of the game, you will have to pretend, I'm afraid --although, if you gave each room (or just your sim's) a small fridge (with Uni) or a regular one, it might work?
The kitchen, dining, and living areas are as in a real boarding house, that is, communal, so sim "boarders" will share the kitchen and, ideally, eat together. There are lots of seating areas for everyone to get to know each other--great for popularity sims--and large lawn, with pool!
Hope you have a great birthday Ress!

  21. School

So Fan needed a school for her story, and I thought this turned out pretty well, I hope you all enjoy it! It's classified as residential.
It has one "traditional" classroom, and because my game at the time was "vanilla" (no cc) and only included Nightlife, the desks are only coffee tables. However, that should be easily fixed Then there is an art classroom with tables for projects and plenty of easels. The library/computer room is closest to the front door, and could also be converted to a classroom. (Sorry, Fan, the above restrictions kept me from including a bulletin board but I believe there is one in university)
This school also has a Principal's Office with waiting room, bathrooms (of course), cafeteria, and auditorium. The back area has two tables for the "cool kids" , and space for swings, etc, if you want to make it an elementary school. As is, it's probably best for a high school (we can pretend middle schools don't exist ). I hope you all like it!

  25. University Village

    My very first self-built dorms!
These dorms are modeled after the only dorms I ever stayed in. That means they are set up into clusters of four sims each. Theoretically, the boys are set up in one building and the girls in the other. Each cluster shares a kitchen, but has two bathrooms, so if your sim does get a townie roommate of the opposite gender, they don't have to share! Each room has it's own balcony, and as you may be able to tell, on the bottom floor, it's concrete with a stone boundary, and on the upper floors has wood floor and fence. So each "cluster" of four rooms shares a large kitchen and dining area. There should be plenty of room to move things around when you get in game to add a communal couch or something, but each room has a dresser and desk, as well as bed. As well as a personal sink and mirror, so they don't have to share.
But no worries! Even if their isn't much room to mingle in the clusters themselves there is a community center with a cafeteria for when your sims don't feel like fending for themselves, as well as providing plenty of opportunities to keep your sims busy and skilled! Not to mention, an awesome full-size pool!
