  1. Betsy For Arts Country Sideboard Recolors

Quite a while ago, Betsy For Arts created her first mesh called "Betsy's Country Sideboard". I loved the mesh because in its simplicity it was so versatile in that it could be recolored in so many different ways. However, the sideboard wasn't recolorable. I fixed the mesh and made several recolors. I'm uploading them in answer to a request from Gwenke.

    Thr original sideboard by Betsy:

    And my recolors:

The download includes the original mesh that I made recolorable. It retains the same GUID, so if you have the original non-recolorable version, just replace it with my fixed version. File names are descrIptive, so you can eliminate any you don't want.

  2. Angel in Mourning

A TS3 mesh converted to TS2. The original object had pixie wings (???) which I thought were strange, so I removed them and added angel wings in their place. I also remapped the object and gave it new textures.

    Faces: 2286 on 2 tiles (1143 faces /tile)
Appears in the catalog under Decorative/Sculptures for 400 Simoleons
    Cloned from a base-game sculpture
Tested in a vanilla game with all expansions plus M&G
The object has two recolorable subsets, the angel and the base. The download includes the mesh and 8 recolors...4 stone and 4 wood.

  3. Sammy the Dancing Mime

As a special gift for Alet and all those who do not play a period game, may I present "Sammy the Mime". He will dance, juggle, play hand puppets and generally make a fool of himself. Watching him increases fun and generates lots of laughter, foot stompin' and belly grabbin'. Available for the entertainment of your Sims at home or on on a community lot.

    Another screenshot:

The Mime is a custom NPC, and so it has the equivalent poly count of most sims.
Appears in the Catalog under Miscellaneous/Party for 100 Simoleons[/center]
Installation: Unzip and place the resulting folder wherever you normally place your downloaded custom content. Both of the files in the folder are necessary for the mime to work.
Use: Buy the Mime's podium and place it on your lot. When you switch into "live mode", the mime will appear on the podium and start his show. You can instruct your Sims to 'Watch' the mime for their enjoyment and fun boost.
    Credits:
Echo for her dancing carnival clown that I used as the basis for my mime.
Note: The podium can only be moved while there is no mime on it. Once the mime NPC has been spawned, you'll need to use "Moveobjects on" to move or delete the podium.

  4. Borin the Medieval Jester

I bring you "Borin" the Medieval Jester for your period lots. I must say though, he's anything but borin'. He will dance, juggle, play hand puppets and generally make a Medieval 'fool' of himself for the enjoyment of your Sim Lords and Ladies. Watching him increases fun and generates lots of laughter, foot stompin' and belly grabbin'. He's a silly fool, but he's loved by nobles and peasants alike!

Installation: Unzip and place the resulting folder wherever you normally place your downloaded custom content. All the files in the folder are necessary for the jester to work. Mesh files and recolor files by other artists have been renamed to prevent inadvertant deletion. They all retain their original GUIDs.

  5. Sword Training Dummy

This is the first of several objects I'm working on that will allow your knights in training to gain the skill they need to become a full royal knight...a sword play training dummy. It uses the animations from the BV Pirate Ship dueling dummy, but will not replace the original. This is a stand-alone object.

    Faces: 244 (very low poly)
Appears in the catalog under Hobbies/Exercising for 100 Simoleons.
Tested in a vanilla game with all expansions plus M&G.
Since it uses the animations introduced with the BV EP, Bon Voyage is required.

  6. Seasons Friendly Ash Tree

A new ash tree that correctly changes with the seasons and drops leaves in the fall. The changing-of-leaves only works if Seasons is installed. It can also be used without Seasons, but only the summer state will appear.
This tree is based on a template by Bienchen but I've made several changes. My template has 2 subsets, 4 seasonal changes, and leaves that drop in the fall. Please feel free to use this template to make your own seasons-friendly trees.

  7. Guardian Angels

"Angel of God, my guardian dear
    To whom God's love commits me here;
Ever this day be at my side,
To light and guard, to rule and guide."

Two guardian angels dedicated to my good friend, Joshua, who was recently involved in a very serious automobile accident. Being near death, we thought we would lose him, but with many prayers and his guardian angels by his side, he has made a truely miraculous recovery.
These are converted meshes that I altered in Milkshape to my liking. The original standing angel was missing her right hand so I made her a new one and the kneeling angel was extremely oversized so I reduced her down to match the standing angel's scale. I also added a base to the standing angel to match the base on the kneeling angel. Finally, I made a mirrored version of each angel and slaved them to the originals

  8. Farm Produce Wagon

This is a Farm Produce Wagon cloned from the TS2 Produce Bin and has all the same functions and interactions. When placed on Community Lots along with a cash register, your Sims are able to purchase groceries from it. If used on a Business Lot, the wagon will eventually become empty (has and empty state) and will need to be restocked. Requires the OFB EP!

    Faces: 9809 on 8 tiles (1226 faces /tile)
Appears in the catalog under Appliances/Miscellaneous for 200 Simoleons.
There are two versions available. One will be available on community lots only and the second will be available on both residential and community lots. If you want to use the Produce Wagon for a home business, you need the residential-community lot version. If you want to use it on community lot businesses only, download the community lot only version. They share the same GUIDs, so you may use only one version. They have different filenames so you know what version you have installed.
Recolors are welcome and encouraged (both the wagon and the produce are recolorable) and I hope you share your recolors, but please link back to Affinity Sims for the mesh.
The download comes with 3 recolors of the wagon and 1 recolor of the produce.

Tested in a vanilla game with all expansions plus M&G.

  11. "Wake Up and Smell the... Chicory"!?

Another "weed" for your Sims. This time it's chicory!

Common chicory, is a somewhat woody, perennial herbaceous plant usually with bright blue flowers. Various varieties are cultivated for salad leaves but the roots, which are baked, ground, and used as a coffee substitute and additive, is the most common usage. It is also grown as a forage crop for livestock. Chicory lives as a wild plant on roadsides in its native Europe, and in North America and Australia, where it has become naturalized. Common names for varieties of chicory include endive, radicchio, Belgian endive, French endive, red endive, sugarloaf or witloof.

  12. Fit for a Queen!

In my previous post on dandelions, I was asked if the flowers in the background were Queen Anne's Lace. I checked and they are. I made these flowers long ago because I love the flower and wanted them for my game. I never intended to uploaded them anywhere, but I thought I'd share them here.
Wild carrot was introduced and naturalized in North America, where it is often known as "Queen Anne's lace", so called because the flower resembles lace. And, did you know, domesticated carrots are cultivars of a subspecies? Some think of it as a noxious weed and consider it a serious pest, but I see it as a delicate flower worthy of a queen's name. I guess, as the old saying goes, "beauty is in the eye of the beholder"!

The download contains two versions of the flower...a master and a slave. You can use the master file by itself, or you can use both of them together...your choice.

  13. A Gift for Nonni...The Crucifix

A special gift I made for Nonni, my friend and sister in Christ.
"God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son."
    - John 3:16
Jesus tilted His head back, pulled up one last time to draw breath and cried, "Tetelestai!" It was a Greek expression almost everyone present would have understood. It was an accounting term. Archaeologists have found papyrus tax receipts with "Tetelestai" written across them, meaning "paid in full." With Jesus' last breath on the cross, He declared the debt of sin cancelled, completely satisfied. Nothing else required. Not good deeds. Not generous donations. Not penance or confession or baptism

  14. Angels Among Us...Cathedral Tapestry Recolors

I believe there are angels among us,
Sent down to us from somewhere up above.
They come to you and me in our darkest hours,
To show us how to live,
To teach us how to give,
To guide us with a light of love.
Written by Becky Hobbs & Don Goodman
    Recorded by Alabama
Eight recolors of my Cathedral Tapestry in an angel theme
Clockwise from top left: Angel, Apothesus, Christ Served by Angels, Abraham and the Three Angels

  17. Dandelions!!

Lisa (lach6) made a request for some dandelions HERE. She said she had fond memories from her childhood picking them for her mother. It brought back memories for me too, so I decided to answer her request.

    O dandelion, rich and haughty,
    King of village flowers!
    Each day is coronation time,
    You have no humble hours.
I like to see you bring a troop
    To beat the blue-grass spears,
To scorn the lawn-mower that would be
    Like fate's triumphant shears.
Your yellow heads are cut away,
It seems your reign is o'er.
By noon you raise a sea of stars
    More golden than before.
    -Vachel Lindsay

    DANDELION PATCHES

    A Closeup shot

I made two different patches of dandelions.

    Dandelion Patch1 6158 faces
    Dandelion Patch2 3648 faces
They appear in the catalog in Buy Mode/Flowers for 5 simoleons. They do not require watering or weeding.
Dandelion Patch2 is slaved to Dandelion Patch1, the Master file, so you need Dandelion Patch1 for recolors to show for Dandelion Patch2
I've edited the BHAV's for the Dandelion Patches so they won't block a Sim's path.
The second part of Lisa's request was for a juice glass with a bouquet of Dandelions.

    Dandelions in a Juice Glass

    3718 faces
Found in the catalog in Decorative/Plants for 1 simoleon
I made one recolor of the glass in a worn pewter texture for those who play a period hood where glass would look out of place.

All objects are base game compatible, and were thoroughly tested in a vanilla game with all expansions plus M&G.
I hope you enjoy these dandelions as much as I enjoyed making them for Lisa.

  20. Kativip-Legends ACR Fixed!

Kativip uploaded a wonderful set to GOS that she called Legends-ACR. It consists of objects extracted from ACR and converted to TS2. Kativip attempted to make most of the objects slaved to various master meshes in the set, but unfortunately, she omitted a few very important steps in the process. As a result, not only were the meshes not repositoried to the master meshes, non of them were recolorable. I've spent absolutely countless hours fixing these files. I repaired 72 files so they would work the way Kativip intended them to work in the first place.

    For Recolorers:
My file naming convention is as follows. Master mesh1 is the master for all slaves with a "1" as a suffix to their file name, Master mesh2 is the master for all slaves with a "2" as a suffix to their file name, etc. To illustrate, the file named kativip LS ACR Cart-slave3_Fixed.package is slaved to the file kativip LS ACR Winch 01-master3.package. Kativip LS ACR Falsework 01-slave1-3_Fixed.package is slaved to both kativip LS ACR Boxes-master1_Fixed.package and kativip LS ACR Winch 01-master3.package. Get the idea? This should make it easier for recolors to determine what masters need to be recolored to recolor the corresponding slave files.
Since so many files were borked in the set, I've tried to make it easy for you to fix your set. All you have to do to have a complete fixed set is remove all the object files you have from the original set and replace them with the files in the download. My download includes both my fixed files as well as all the original files that didn't need fixing (because they weren't slaved). All the GUIDs are the same, so they won't affect gameplay, i.e. if you've used any of the borked files in a lot, they will still be there after installing my fixed versions, only now they'll be repositoried and recolorable. If there are any I've missed, please let me know. There were so many files to fix, I may have overlooked one or two.
BTW, I did not include any of the walls, floors or terrain paints from the set. They are not affected by the repository technique, so I didn't touch those.
You can get Kativips original set HERE.
