  1. Wonky Paint Program

Oh congrats on buying a house, it's a wonderful feeling. I remember it took me a few weeks of actually living in our house before it really hit me, that the house was ours! 21 years later I still love my little house. Now that I know this new way of making patterns, I can make quite a few in a day if I stick to it. Today wasn't so productive because I had to get 3 fillings at the dentist. I do have a lot of clothings that I am also working on. I have to switch back and forth between the clothings and making patterns so I don't get bored or lose interest. This new way of making patterns is so much faster. Michael wants me to download Sims3 and make him some stuff. He's been playing Sims3 for a couple of weeks now. Yeah, I need to learn how to make things for Sims3 because I just don't have enough projects on the go as it is. OH!! I also figured out the correct sizes of the pictures I usually take for my uploads. Solved my own problems after adjusting and readjusting the sizes like a gazillion times.
  2. Wonky Paint Program

So I found a few new to me things and did my usual thing but then!!!! My paint program has decided to go severely wonky when I want to cut and paste the pictures I use in the uploads. It's driving me nuts cause I cannot figure it out. Sometimes it's fine and does what I want but mostly it won't. Do I have to un-install it and then re-install it?
  3. Wonky Paint Program

Well forget that previous post, the wonkiness just kept coming back. I was so angry I uninstalled the program and then after a restart I re-installed it. Guess what? Yep, that pesky wonkiness is still there so I now think that a windows update has messed with my paint program. The good news is I went to their support page, didn't find a solution..... then I went to the tutorial section and lo and behold, I found the solution. The bad news is that the shape selection tool simply doesn't work at all anymore, which means the *cut and paste* also doesn't work. Now I just use the *move* tool and then use the arrows on the keyboard to place sections to make a pattern. I'm to admit that doing it this new way is actually a big improvement.
  4. Wonky Paint Program

I have found the solution. I had to go to their discussion section and read about a gazillion topic titles. As for that *crop tool*, I am totally not able to understand their instructions. I think that one of Microsoft's updates for Windows 10 may have had something to do with my problem. There were pages devoted to that topic.
  5. Wonky Paint Program

The wonkiness has returned. I cannot get the cut tool to cut the size I want for my upload pictures. Is there anyone who can ? These are 512 X 512 images but I usually cut a rectangle size and it just won't let me. I am using PaintShopPro-2018.

  8. Stranger than normal day at our house.....

I think I finally found a picture that explains the rat problem.....
  9. Ok, I admit Dave and I are a tad bit on the weird side. But today was just weirder than usual. He got the groceries and was looking for the milk pitcher.....I told him to look for it in the *middle of messy* I have no idea where that came from. It just popped out. Just now Jake was tormenting Squeak, an everyday occurrence, so nothing weird there. Then Dave comes over to me with a patch of Squeak's hair he removed from Jake's mouth. He hands it over to me and tells me to place it in evidence. I happen to have an empty plastic bag on my desk, so I put the patch of hair in it. According to Dave he is the *Investigator* and I am the crime lab employee who analyzes the evidence. The crime is *Hair Pulling*, the victim is Squeak and the perpetrator is Jake. I have no clue when this will culminate in a trial as we don't know who will be the judge and Jake has no money for a lawyer. You don't have to be crazy to live here, but it sure does help.
  10. Wonky Paint Program

Well the wonky was actually me It's fixed now and I am going bananas in BodyShop.
  11. Wonky Paint Program

It won't let me *cut* the picture the size I want. Usually you can just use the cutting tool and draw over the picture to get the size correctly but mine cuts off at weird places. I think I may try my previous version and see if that one works.

Happy Belated Birthday LilSister. I am so sorry I missed it, I hope you have many more wonderful and blessed birthdays.
  13. MissionMouse-Update

I went into SimPE and realized that I've forgotten how to use it..... So I did some research and am trying to decide what do do next. I still have some outfits to finish up and still a ton of new patterns to make. At this time of the year I struggle with SAD- Seasonal Affective Disorder which tends to interfere with my creative interests. My focus and ability to concentrate are somewhat limited, but I am trying to do some creating everyday. I try and spend at least a bit of time outside to get some sunlight which is supposed to help lessen the symptoms.
  14. MissionMouse-Update

Just to keep you all informed, I have been quite busy reorganizing my pattern collection. I have discovered that it is actually a lot more extensive than I had thought. I'm in the process of downloading TheSims2 Ultimate Collection, having uninstalled Sims4 to correct a glitch between package files and my PSP program. Once Sims2 is installed, then I am going to re-install Sims4 and see if my problem has gotten resolved. I am hoping that the re-installation of Sims4 can be completed by this coming weekend. Then I hope to resume uploading content for both games. However, with regards to Sims4, I will only upload EA content and NOT any creator content. Most of the creators for Sims4 have a TOU that states you are not allowed to upload their mesh with your recolours. Some TOU's even do not allow you to recolour the item at all. What does one do if they like the mesh but the colour choices leave a great deal to be desired? Oh c'mon, we have all come across a wonderfully designed mesh but wouldn't use that particular pattern to dust our coffee table with....Personally I find that kind of TOU simply too restrictive. Any recolour of any mesh is a sincere compliment to the original creator because you actually have to really love that mesh to want to put in the work and thought and time to recolour it. A different pattern or a different texture can really have an effect on some clothing. Affinity has a policy of including the mesh in with the recolours to make things easier for our members. I personally will not send our members hither and yon in search of meshes that have a habit of disappearing after a time. It is frustrating and time consuming. I have always given credit to the original mesh and creator. In fact I have *fangirled* several creators that just make me swoon with their fabulous creations. Anyone that knows me knows that I only recolour things I am deeply enamored with. Certainly all of my recolours have been my way of honouring the original creator in the case of ALL recolours I have done for Sims2. It's also been my belief that once you download anything that I recoloured it then belongs to you, the downloader. If you like it but want to embellish it, tweak it or even add something to it, then by all means feel free to do so. I'm tickled pink if you have something I recoloured in your game. Even after all this time it still gives me a thrill when something I've done is downloaded. I have hundreds of CC for Sims4 but due to the restrictive TOU's I cannot share them. I will do private recolours within my area of capability if I am sent PM's requesting them, but I cannot post them for general downloads and for that I am truly sorry. At the end of the day this is really just a game we play for whatever reasons we choose to play. Anything that is made to enhance our play is a bonus. For people like me who cannot quite grasp all the intricacies of creating, then recolouring can give us immense satisfaction and a real sense of achievement. In fact I prefer to recolour rather than play the games. When experimenting with different patterns, and combinations of patterns I feel like I can change an everyday dress into a garden party type dress. Sometimes it even works that different textures can change an everyday dress into an alluring evening dress. You can add a shiny belt or a jewelled belt and get a totally different outcome. I've used embroidered images I found on the internet that I put on pillows to make them unique. The fact is design possibilities are endless and only restricted by one's own unique taste. That's what makes this so much fun for me. Thanks to Rebecah for taking me under her wing and teaching me to recolour I can finally give back to a community that has given me so much enjoyment. I have had some health issues and some family issues that have had an unwanted affect on the time I have had to make things to upload but with the prayers from my Affinity Family and with God's grace most of those issues have been resolved. I still have a very demanding dog that needs my time and attention but in the last year and a half, we have gone from a 5 cat household to a one cat household and those passings have left me bereft at times. And now for a wee bit of comic relief....I don't pay any attention to my birthday or my age and someone asked me recently how old I would be this year. To my utter shock I had no idea, so out came the calculator (I never was any good at math) I'm 58, I'll be 59 this September and then the BIG OLE 60 next year. Seriously I didn't think I was that old.... because I almost said I was 54 or 55. The not being good at math is no joke, I failed it my senior year in high school and by failed, I mean miserably failed! And yet I worked in the banking industry for 23 years and was very good at my job. Go figure.....

The link doesn't work, but if it's the one I'm thinking about For anyone who wants to see it, just search on You Tube for "Drunk Squirrel" Trust me it's totally worth it.
  19. Stranger than normal day at our house.....

We have had more than the usual amount of snow here and I let Jake out in the back yard. Darn near died laughing.....Michael had done some shoveling in front of the gate and shed door, so there was a good pile of snow just past the shed door. It was a good size bank and it took Jake 4 or 5 tries to get beyond that bank. He was not expecting to snow to be almost as high past that bank and he had to hop like a bunny to make it to the back fence. Michael and I were laughing our heads off. Fairly quickly Jake decided to return to where the snow had been cleared and had just as much of a challenge hopping over that bank to get to the deck. Poor puppy, he exhausted himself so much he came inside and passed out on the couch.
  20. Stranger than normal day at our house.....

Apparently rats and mice do not like cheese, they do however love peanut butter. Also Mighty Rat has a spouse so I guess it's Mr Mighty Rat and Mrs Sneaky Rat. Dave had a bag of poison in the shed and one of the rats dragged it into their lair but there are new rat droppings in the shed so it seems as if they are immune to the poison. If they do eventually die from the poison I admit that it worries me that Jake might find them.
  21. MissionMouse-Update

I've been concentrating on rebuilding my pattern files and am surprised by the number of patterns I have finished and also accumulated. I have some amazing plaids, tweeds, and houndstooth, which I think will be great on some outerwear coats. I did find most of my old knit patterns. I found a ton of coordinating polka dot patterns and just coordinating patterns as well. I love using those patterns for skirts with jackets (blazers) and I made some linens match up with some patterns to give me more of a variety for those kinds of suits. Some plaids will go wonderfully with some linens for a man's casual suit jacket with pants. Plaid suit jacket, and linen pants. And this is where being a Virgo has some disadvantages....The Sims2 Ultimate Collection from Child up to Elder uses 512 X 512 patterns and the Toddler and Infant use a mixture of 512 X 512, and 256 X 256 patterns. SimPe seems to stick with 1024 X1024 patterns and Sims4 uses 1024 X 2048 patterns. The Sims4 size is really weird in that only the bottom half of the section is the actual pattern, the top half is always blank. Since I have to see the actual pattern I am working with, this means I have to have 3 different sizes of the same patterns. So I have 3 folders, one for each size. Also one cannot simply resize a pattern for each category or the dimensions of the actual pattern become distorted so I had to find a way to insure that each pattern maintained the original size of the design and yet be the correct measurement for each item. I did find a solution that works for me but it is time consuming which explains why it is taking me such a long time to get things done. I make all my patterns 1024X1024 and then use templates to make the 512X512 and 1024X2048 patterns. I have close to 6000 patterns and am probably only a quarter of the way through all the patterns I have downloaded.
  22. Stranger than normal day at our house.....

Both traps are still there. This is quite the mystery.
  23. Stranger than normal day at our house.....

I do not believe this, that rat that was caught in the trap has DISAPPEARED!! Dave didn't remove it from the trap and this morning when he went out to the shed, that rat was GONE! I do not understand how this is even possible......

7721 for Lisa, whom I love dearly.
  25. Stranger than normal day at our house.....

Dave would like me to tell all of you that his trap was finally successful and the rat has met his end. The thing is we don't know if it was the male or the female because when we first became aware of the rat, there were two of them. If he has been successful with only one of them, that should be sufficient I think because I think this means there will be no offspring. I realize that this sounds somewhat cruel but here in Canada, house insurance does not cover damage done by animals chewing any kind of wiring. So if you get rodents inside your walls and they damage the wiring, it is at your own personal expense that the damages must be paid. Aside from the fact that their droppings can cause severe illnesses once they dry and can be inhaled, it is just not something I want in or around our home. We had a very mild few days and all the snow we had melted. Then came the weekend, it snowed and snowed and Jake now has some fluffy stuff to roll in again. He is so happy. He goes racing out the patio doors, dives into the snow and rolls to his heart's content. He has the biggest smile on his face while he is doing that. It's impossible not to smile when we are watching him roll and roll. When he has had enough and is sufficiently chilled, he prances back inside, proud as punch. Yesterday he did a nose dive into a bit of a bank, came out and his face was so completely covered in snow and all I could see were two nostrils. Oh yeah, also a fiercely wagging tail.
